SMF Collaborates with PNM Venture Syariah Increase the Capacity for Islamic Mortgage Financing

Jakarta 26 January 2022 – PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero) or SMF through the Sharia Business Unit cooperates with PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) Ventura Syariah to encourage increased capacity for sharia-based home ownership in Indonesia.

This was realized by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Increase the Distribution Capacity of Housing and Settlement Financing between SMF and PNM Venture Syariah on Wednesday (26/1) at Ghra SMF, South Jakarta.

The cooperation agreement was signed directly by the President Director of SMF, Ananta Wiyogo, and the President Director of PNM Ventura Syariah, Agus Sudrajat, which was carried out by the Director of Securitization and Financing of SMF, Heliantopo, the Business Director of PNM Ventura Syariah, Bambang Martanto, and the Director of Finance and Operations of PNM. The cooperation includes the development of sharia-based housing and settlement financing, support for the study and development of digital information technology-based service programs in order to expand and facilitate public access to housing and/or settlement financing, and support for the development of human resource capacity building programs. PNM Ventura Syariah and its affiliated BPRS in the context of distributing quality housing and/or settlement financing, so as to enable expansion of access to housing finance for non-fixed income communities.

On this occasion, the President Director of SMF, Ananta Wiyogo, revealed that SMF as the Ministry of Finance’s Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) is committed to being able to provide wider benefits. In this regard, he expressed that he is ready to cooperate and use it as much as possible to be a catalyst that will push back the growth of bank credit which is in line with and in line with the Government’s program to restore national economic conditions.

Ananta hopes that this collaboration can be a good start for a synergy that will continue to be sustainable in the future. “We are optimistic that this synergy can accelerate the national economic recovery as well as the development of the Sharia mortgage market in Indonesia, which can expand access to decent and affordable home ownership for every Indonesian family, and can provide wider benefits to the community and nation,” he concluded.
